Personal website update, Vue to React
Posted on December 9, 2022
I last rebuilt my website *officially* in August 2019 using Gridsome, a Vue-based static site generator, and since then I've mostly been all-in on Vue in both personal and professional projects. But since then I've used it as a base when trying out a new CMS (Strapi, Contentful, Storyblok, and most recently Sanity) or a different framework (... usually just Nuxt). I'm relaunching now with React for the first time, using NextJS as my framework.
In my 5+ years of web development I've mostly worked with Vue, but even when just casually browsing job boards it's clear that developers with React experience seem pretty favorable. I'm dipping my toes into setup and development in NextJS with this new site build.
